New 6GTandem White Paper Published

25 August, 2026
We are pleased to announce the publication of the 6GTandem White Paper, presenting the project’s key technological achievements, exploitation roadmap, standardisation perspective, and scientific contributions.
The white paper highlights how 6GTandem addresses one of the major challenges of future 6G systems: enabling reliable sub-THz wireless connectivity. The project developed and validated a novel dual-frequency distributed deployment concept, combining a robust sub-10 GHz layer with a high-capacity sub-THz layer to improve resilience against blockage, mobility, and hardware limitations. Among the project’s achievements are advanced D-band transceivers, antenna-in-package technologies, polymer microwave fibre (PMF) links, positioning-assisted radio unit selection, and demonstrations of ultra-high-capacity data transmission. The white paper also outlines future exploitation and pre-standardisation pathways, emphasising that reliable and deployable sub-THz systems must be strengthened through evidence-based research before standardisation efforts can follow.
